Imaginative interior finishes are the heart and soul of R. Gleason.
We’re honored to field calls from the country’s most talented architects and designers amidst their most inspired design challenges.
Our Privilege
Our artisans are energized by daunting visions others can’t tackle – those for which creativity is called for and expertise is essential. From public concert halls to private bedrooms, R. Gleason has transformed grand visions into tangible reality across the Pacific Northwest for three decades and counting.
We’ve been privileged to outfit the bedrooms of Forbes list occupants, the offices of Fortune 50 conglomerates, and the living rooms of those “famous” only to their children. As a result, much of our clientèle is discreet, but our team’s reputation is wide.
Benaroya Hall | Seattle, WA
An hour after hearing a client’s vision, a production manager, lead finisher, and chemist are pulling samples, mulling ideas, and mixing mordants.
Our Process
R. Gleason includes techniques 600 years old and processes 30 steps deep.
We build on centuries of insights honed across Belgium, France, and Germany with innovations borrowed from modern chemistry, art, and even wine. We‘ve basted steel wool in vinegar to create a concoction that enlivens a piece of cherry, dissolved tannins in water to penetrate the cell structure of sap wood, and applied automotive paint to custom-routed panels to realize effects that none have seen and few can match.
The R. Gleason “Wall of Fame” features samples from Forbes list homes, landmarks, and mere favorites.
