Bob's Bio

EwH RGleason 31R. Gleason's president, Bob McGowan, is a third-generation painting and decorating contractor, with experience that includes mixing paints, lacquers, stains, conversion varnishes and washes. He along with a team of highly skilled finishers take great care with each project, utilizing the latest, eco-friendly materials available.

In 1969 Bob Jr. started with his grandfather George Nulton (who owned Atna Painting and Decorating) and completed his apprenticeship at Denholme & Mohr Painting.  From there he went to Payette Industries working for Don Payette and under Paint Superintendent Bill Burrill.  This enabled Bob to be exposed to skilled craftsman from Europe namely Norway, Germany and Wales.  After working for Payette Industries for 5 years, Bob started his own company in 1988 working for executives and owners of well known local software companies and other clientele.

Robert G. McGowan Sr. owned a paint store in the University District and sold out to CnC Paints only to become one of their leading salesmen and managers.  It was there that I was privileged to work with Steve Banta & Dick Tabelle, CnC's chemists about formulation of paint.  Steve and Dick were the fellows who helped put together the P.D.C.A. Handbook.
